I was recently asked what single piece of content has affected me most and why. I chose “The Loneliness of the Progressive Asian American Christian,” by my now-friend Liz Lin. Her essay, and the corresponding Facebook group, showed me that I wasn’t alone. Because of that one essay, I began to reclaim my cultural heritage, learned how to better parent my Asian American child, and ultimately changed the entire focus of my work. (You could argue that I’m here at Mochi thanks to that article!)

Talk about influential.

It’s 2020, and Asian Americans everywhere are making an impact. This season, we’ll meet several Asian American leaders who are positioned to influence state budgets, parental leave policy, and the entertainment narrative, to name just a few.

2020 is a census year and an election year. It’s more important than ever to make our voices heard and influence felt. At Mochi, we want our content to empower you to be influential in your homes, schools, workplaces, relationships and decisions. Look for more profiles of Asian American movers and shakers, as well as practical tips for getting involved. And, as always, let us know what you want to hear about!
